The United States Pan American Games Trials concluded today (Oct 10) at Bay-Waveland YC, MS. Through eight races over 2 days, only 5 points separated Paul Foerster from David Mendelblatt. Due to light winds, the regatta would be decided by one final race on the final day. Paul Foerster was clutch in the final race, winning it and the event. David Mendelblatt finished comfortably in second for the series, followed by Jamey Rabbitt.
After 2 days of racing Paul Foerster has 4 pt lead over David Mendelblatt. Those two sailors are about 15 points clear of the 3rd place boat. The last day racing has four races scheduled.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing problems with the computer doing the scores. Updates will come as soon as they are available.
The RC just reported that Paul Foerster won race 7. I believe he has won multiple races today.
The RC reports that it is a beautiful, sunny day at Bay-Waveland YC. The wind is 8-10 knots.
Race #7 just got started. It is the fourth race of the day. Paul Foerster has extended his overnight series lead on competitors.
